single all original and completely intact antique mid-nineteenth century heavily irridized green glass mineral water bottle manufactured for frederick augustus conant in new orleans, la. the soda bottle tapers into a long narrow neck and applied tapered collar with appealing crudity, including heavy whittling and stretch marks. the front body is embossed, "f.a. conant / 252 / girod st n.o." while the reverse features a "c" embossed centrally. the base features a kickup with moderate residue from the iron pontil. crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture, including whittling, bubbles and minor surface wear. the bottle is vibrantly colored, with an allover rainbow hued irridization that lends the glass an attractive appearance of variegated green and blue colors. frederick augustus conant was an early manufacturer of mineral water located in new orleans. he started manufacturing in 1842, and around 1851 relocated to 252 girod street. conant was only in business until 1855. measures 7 1/2 inches in height.
