original old american industrial robust four-legged machine base featuring unique arch top stretchers or bracing for added stability. the exact fabricator is not known. the factory machine base is comprised of weathered wrought iron that has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the multiple stretchers contain several riveted joints which provide more visual appeal and distinction. the machine base was salvaged from a twine factory located in chicago. likely dates to 1910-20. the utilitarian base can be used in a variety of design applications. 38 inches x 21 inches x 24 inches.
