very clean and well-built repurposed american industrial low-lying coffee table featuring heavily reinforced cast iron legs designed and fabricated by or for the hydraulic press mfg. co., mt. gilead, oh. the set of matching iron legs were salvaged from a shuttered factory complex located on the north side of chicago. the machine shop bases were originally used to support a solid steel deck containing a sizable hand-operated arbor press. the floor plates contain pre-drilled holes for anchoring into or against the floor. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the newly added table top and undershelf are comprised of completely refinished recycled solid cherry wood boards containing beveled edges for added visual distinction. excellent overall condition. measures 43 1/2 x 27 x 21 inches.
