original late 1930's american machine age freestanding weighted air circulating fan base salvaged from a recently shuttered factory. the fan base was likely fabricated by or for the general electric company, schenectady, ny. the heavy cast iron four-legged base with deeply grooved lines contains pre-drilled holes for securing against the floor and/or use with casters. the cylindrical-shaped upright or post comprised of heavy gauge steel. the aluminum cap retains the original faucet handle. the brushed metal finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. measures 50 inches tall.
