late 1930's american depression era largely intact freestanding interior residential streamlined style pedestal lavatory or bathroom sink designed and fabricated by or for the crane company, chicago, il. the highly desirable art deco style weighted washroom sink retains the original pink porcelain or vitreous enameled finish over cast iron. the fittings (e.g., faucets, etc.), were removed long ago. the sink's apron has a fine curvaceous edge with subtle and slightly raised band. the porcelain enameled finish remains in good overall condition, considering age. surface wear and discoloration evident. the pedestal base is structurally sound and stable. base diameter measures 13 inches, total height measures 31 inches, sink measures 27 inches x 22 inches.
