original american depression era intact and functional freestanding a-frame folding stepladder likely designed and fabricated by the peerless folding ladder company, greenville, sc. the nicely aged and/or distressed fnish has been lightly cleaned, but otherwise left largely untouched. the diminutive lightweight yellow pine wood ladder contains two folding pressed steel hinges or brackets on each side. the cross-bracing on the opposite side containing the rungs features wood cross-bracing. salvaged from a chicago twine factory. a similar one with the original old green paint finish was discovered in the same factory. measures 14 x 20 x 25 inches when open.
