exceptionally rare, all original and fully functional freestanding commercial building elevator cab or car operator's stool designed and fabricated for the sani products company, sani building, chicago, il. sani products was formed to merchandize the products of the marietta mfg. co., if indianapolis, ind., and the chicago hardware foundry company, of north chicago, ill. the refinished stool contains a copper-plated pedestal style base with flared floor, designed to be anchored against the floor of the cab. the spring-loaded hinge is fully functional. the solid birch wood seat is positioned in an upward position. the refinished base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great overall condition, considering age.
