exceptionally strong and thoroughly refinished american vintage industrial stationary repurposed compartmentalized furniture console fabricated in part by the stackbin corp., pawucket, ri. the freestanding cabinet contains two rows of three oversized reinforced folded and pressed cold-rolled steel factory workbench hopper boxes or nesting bins designed and patented in 1930 by thomas shaw of woonsocket, rhode island. the welded and riveted joint multipurpose brushed metal "stackbin" allows for easy access to small parts and fasteners with a smooth interior and full-flow hopper front. the steel bins were designed to be inter-stacked and support any weight that can fit within the cube of the container. the angled steel frame and bins have been brushed down to bare metal (inside and out) and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the custom-built top is comprised of refinished hardwood salvaged from the lanes of a chicago area bowling alley. two angled steel brackets were added to the underside of the table to ensure a tight fit to the cabinet.
