two matching original and largely intact freestanding c. 1880's hard to find salvaged chicago cast iron residential newel posts designed and fabricated by f.p. smith wire and iron works, chicago, ills. the posts contain steeple finials and chamfered edges. the fabricator's name is prominently displayed on the front panel of each newel post. the newel posts contain a uniform black enameled finish throughout. priced for the pair.
