early 1920's american made antique industrial stationary side table or specialized work station featuring two uniquely-shaped "standard" cast iron bases fabricated in milford, mass. the tabletop, which may or may not be original, is comprised of a thin narrow pine wood board with an early, allover crazed "simpex" logo with a red, black and white color scheme. the two opposed flared legs have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the solid steel stretcher rods bolted firmly in place, provides added stability and support. the wood top can easily be replaced if need be with the legs being repurposed into some other furniture configuration. the bases contain protruding feet with slotted openings designed to anchor the table or machine legs firmly against the floor. measures 58 x 19 x 30 3/4 inches.
